Why is the track so bumpy ?

It's quite a new circuit so is it the ground settling ?

It seems to be just as close as it has been all season. The suggestions of a "Merc advantage" before the weekend appear to have just been hype and build up to ensure there was plenty of interested generated for this weekend's race.

If I was a betting person I'd put my money on a Verstappen pole position.

It’s a problem for Dep. Of Transportations in that part and other parts of the country. Just traffic isn’t going 180mph for it to matter as much in terms of discomfort.

I know what you mean. Years ago I was a passenger in a friend's M3 going into Schiphol tunnel from Amsterdam doing about 140mph, I'd never felt the bump I did that day any time before. It wasn't pleasant let me tell you.

Easy: Max dawdles behind someone, Hamilton locks up and then goes up the inside to avoid contact, Max then goes all "how dare you!!!!".

I walked around Silverstone with Justin Wilson. Looking at Maggots, he says "there's a nasty bump here". "Where? It's flat, surely", "Trust me, at 180mph, this ripple feels like a speed hump".

And that's the reality of "they're complaining about the bumps" from so-called fans compared to what the drivers experience on track.

When I saw the Max onboard I thought it was Lewis playing games.

Seeing the Lewis onboard, however, he comes at the two at such a pace that jumping in front was the normal move to make. I don't think he was playing in games at all he was just on a different testing strategy and going a lot faster.

After he did that though it's Max who responds and decides to come back obviously affected in some way by it. I'd like to say Hamilton is intentionally getting into his head but TBH this one is all on Max and it shows a bit of fragility which is understandable.

Suspension squat from aero load on the straight. It’s becoming more pronounced on the Merc now that they’ve increased the rake.

This “phenomenon” is easily observable on every car in the paddock.
