The pundits were saying that 3rd position is possibly the better starting position, as it's the clean side of the grid and you get the slip stream in to T1. They even suggested "perhaps yesterday wasn't such a bad thing for RB".
If Max started in 9th they would probably say advantage Max, 9th is the best place to start here. Come on

Fastest is not the best.

Why is it the best if you are 2s faster than your competitors, but you can’t finish a race.

How can that Gasly - Alonso situation in Turkey be penalised yet not even an investigation against Ricciardo. What a BS

Red Bull could've done better with Checo, probably should've undercut aggressively.
And of course Ferrari did Mercedes a massive favor removing Leclerc and forcing AT to pit Gasly.
Yes. Maybe they hopped RB2 will sacrifice gasly, but they didn't

I have written here yesterday that Mercedes was finally showing their true pace. I have to get back to that: obviously I was wrong

I agree. Ric destroyed Bottas' race

O my.... Bottas on softs overtaken again by Verstappen. What a terrible drive today for Bottas.
It was horrible tactics from the team that Bottas ended up behind Max for the FL but Bottas left his brain on his nightstand today.

That's because bottass gave Max the racing line at the start. My wife, who only watches 2 or 3 races a year was like what is he doing......
He is obviously trolling. The fact that Checo was even close to Hamilton shows what a dominant car the Red Bull is when it’s in the right setup window. Championship is now over.
It is a fact. Max moved from 3rd to 1st around the outside. That is not a common thing. Hamilton's start was actually a bit too good that it ended up being a disadvantage for him because he did not benefit from a slip stream from Bottas. Infact he was going to the left but upon realizing how good his start was had to abandon the slip stream. A Slightly poorer start might have seen him occupy the position behind Bottas before Max got there. There is no where else on the track to pass and Merc owned the straights here.
A fact is that he was already alongside Bottas when starting the braking, which shows how powerful the slipstream was at the start since they were all bunched up. Later in the race it’s obviously a different story when tyre wear comes into play. Max did a solid job by his manouvre into T1, sure. But to say he should not have won the race is frankly ridiculous, given how far ahead he finally finished, plus the fact that he was managing the car after half the race and STILL pulling away.

Didn’t we had a spell where the Ferrari’s were getting pole positions, but come race day, Merc were doing what they do best?

Bottas his drive was indeed an all time low if you ask me. Wouldn’t be surprised if they put Russel in that car for Brasil

If Max was on pole he would have likely kept that position. The car brakes well enough and max has the right sense of agression. Bottas was a joke.
But yes the cream rises to the top. Redbull deserve to be constructors champions. Checo is driving well when it matters. It really helps that he found a good direction to set the car up how he likes it.
Mercedes really need Russel in the next car. And even then i dont think its a better pairing than Max and Checo.

Anyhow 4 races left!
Can the championship turn around!?

A fumbled pitstop, a trip to the gravel, an engine failure, gearbox?! what will it be! who will it happen to? lol
I just have a feeling things will level out. and No Ryar LH is not owed any DNFs.
There is no fairness in chance.
For Sure!!

Totally yes. Bottas checked out earlier in the season. He sometimes comes out to play during qualifying but that's about it. Today his side of the garage decided to check out early too it seems. #-o
