Only by a single championship point after today...
If Max started in 9th they would probably say advantage Max, 9th is the best place to start here. They even suggested "perhaps yesterday wasn't such a bad thing for RB".
A fact is that he was already alongside Bottas when starting the braking, which shows how powerful the slipstream was at the start since they were all bunched up. Later in the race it’s obviously a different story when tyre wear comes into play. Max did a solid job by his manouvre into T1, sure. But to say he should not have won the race is frankly ridiculous, given how far ahead he finally finished, plus the fact that he was managing the car after half the race and STILL pulling away.grubschumi13 wrote: ↑07 Nov 2021, 23:00It is a fact. Max moved from 3rd to 1st around the outside. That is not a common thing. Hamilton's start was actually a bit too good that it ended up being a disadvantage for him because he did not benefit from a slip stream from Bottas. Infact he was going to the left but upon realizing how good his start was had to abandon the slip stream. A Slightly poorer start might have seen him occupy the position behind Bottas before Max got there. There is no where else on the track to pass and Merc owned the straights here.Tvetovnato wrote: ↑07 Nov 2021, 22:50He is obviously trolling. The fact that Checo was even close to Hamilton shows what a dominant car the Red Bull is when it’s in the right setup window. Championship is now over.
Sort of payback for Hungary.
Totally yes. Bottas checked out earlier in the season. He sometimes comes out to play during qualifying but that's about it. Today his side of the garage decided to check out early too it seems.
