Soft tyre run, aborted the first flying lap and set a PB in sectors 1 and 2 and bailed out in sector 3. Had he continued he would have been around 3rd fastest.

His time of 1m34.609s on the hards is also a pretty decent lap it's the 2nd fastest of the C2 runners and only a few tenths off lecrerc, and its probably reasonable to suggest he's not pushing too hard with the brake issues they're having.

Was that time on C2 or C3? I thought it was on C3

Lando’s last run in C4’s matched Sainz S1, then half a second down in S2…. He pitted without finishing the lap, but the car isn’t looking bad

That was a second attempt too, locked up down into turn 1 on his first attempt and aborted. Was about to start another run before that red flag, so we'll have to wait until tomorrow before we get a hint of true performance. Looking decent as you said!

Main thing is that the car was one of the better looking ones in terms of stability… I’ve been following all day and the MCL36 isn’t exhibiting the understeer of other cars or the twitchiness of a few others.

Now, S2 is really where the cars will find the biggest differences, but is such small margins (how early you brake into T10), that just been a bit cautious can cost half a second… Not sure if we have access to mini sectors

Being half a second down on softer tires can only be because of one of these two things.

1-The car is struggling on low speed corners
2-The car is heavy on fuel.

It wasn’t on softer tires… Sainz time was on C4’s if I’m not wrong
