- strategy and operations department still far bellow the championship-winning level
https://www.racefans.net/2023/06/04/fer ... rc-admits/The first stint we had the hard, which we expected to be a good tyre, but for some reason it was so bad. Like, no grip at all, especially from the front. The limitations were completely different to qualifying, today we were more expecting this, but then for some reason the second hard [tyre] I just do exactly the same thing and it feels really good.
“So for some reason we seem to never really get in the right window of the tyre and when we do, it’s a bit of a surprise to us. So there’s a lot of work we need to do.”
How could the car be higher with more weight, without active suspension?scuderiabrandon wrote: ↑04 Jun 2023, 12:13Static ride height doesn't change much on high fuel, in fact Ferrari has had an issue with dynamic ride height changes, when the car is loaded with fuel they don't reach their targeted loads which means the car is running much higher than in qualy.yinlad wrote: ↑04 Jun 2023, 12:04If it was too low in quali it's going to much too low with 110kg of fuel on boardSevach wrote: ↑04 Jun 2023, 07:39
It's both kind of embarassing that Ferrari is the only of the top cars that lifts in both 3 and 9, and a little bit impressive that it still can beat anyone that isn't RB around a lap.
Leclerc had a bit of a lift in 12 too.
The car is also the one that it's still a little bit affected by porpoising on the straights.
Did they set the car too low for qualy, so that it sits at the perfect height for the race? I'm talking about that theory that in the race cornering gets slower and with less downforce pushing it down the car raises a bit.
Yep kinda right but still relatively LEC in SAI barely faster than AM, ALP in race pace. So yeah... A lot of work for Italians. Merc was .3 faster at minimum.
