Yes, I know, but only @Silo and @FW17 talked about it and the others were talking about Lusail.
I think some have criticized Losail for being flat and featureless resulting in many parts of the circuit feeling indistinct and same-y. I think it's valid
Someone then drew comparison to Silverstone, one of the most beloved F1 circuits, with its also flat and largely featureless location as a defence of Losail or just to point out that it may not exclude Losail from being a good track
Both are valid IMO
It's a bit frustrating for Qatar to already have a deal until 2032 - sportswashing at its finest.
<mod edit: point made already, further politics removed>. Other sports that I'm interested in such as Football, cycling are already infiltrated in far more insidious ways, but it's inevitable that F1 will experience a similar fate given how money-hungry it has proven to be
This aside I don't think Qatar will make for spectacular racing with its lack of braking zones, lack of slow-speed, and narrow track width. 2021 was good but there were a lot of unusual factors in this race: height of a championship battle, out of position cars, strange strategy due to the tyre punctures and lots of unpredictability due to said punctures causing DNFs
