Where did Perez manage to lose 2 tenths to Lando?
He gained 2 tenths in S1. Lost a tenth in S2. and lost 2 tenths in S3.
S3 is sooo short to lose a big amount of time.
Bad exit from Juncao most probably.

Lando has been summoned for maximum laptime between SC lines

Previously the stewards acknowledged that there was a conflict in the RD notes for the drivers: don't drive unnecessarily slowly anywhere (including the pits) but also don't drive slowly around the lap, so where can you build a gap?

They've since firmed up the impeding rules Re: pitlane and have started punishing that with proper penalties; it's possible that the decreased conflict in the RD notes means they will now take harsher action against driving too slowly around the lap

That said, Lando's summons is related to Q1 so may have the Ferrari Monza excuse up their sleeve

Does anyone know which lap Lando was over by? Surely it cant be the last run in SQ3?
Mess with the Bull - you get the horns.

That was a monster lap from Perez on used tires.
"because he didn't want to use a new set", as Marko just said on German Sky. :wtf:

He seems to be getting old. His statement in the AMuS analysis yesterday was nonsense as well.
No? They didn’t do a second run in Q3 anymore yesterday so everyone had 1 more fresh set left than expected, right?
In Qualifying, Perez used five sets to make it into the final round, and then another one in Q3. So used softs was all he had left for the shootout.

Yesterday Marko was quoted "Both Verstappen and Perez did three runs in Q1, but only on a single set of tires", which was incorrect as well. Both used two sets in Q1.

one of the double cool down laps in SQ1. Time stamp says it happened at 12:08 local time.

But earlier in the year it was reported that the maximum penalty for this is a reprimand anyway. I doubt this has changed.

So basically the same speeds and sector time as yesterday in qualy ...

Based on the above stats could we say that those cars which set the fastest S2 times are being set towards a one-stop race on Sunday, for having more downforce and thus could preserve the tyres better ... so it seems that both Merc and Aston drivers went for this strategy and also PER in the first 10 drivers on the grid ...

Very hard to read what NOR would do on Sunday, based on the fact that he set the fastest time in S2 (35.659 which is 3.5 tenths faster than PIA) and on the straights did a 333kph (330kph in PIA`s case) which is almost 10kph faster than both Merc and Aston drivers did today and yesterday ... I presume it was not due to the tow in both qualy and Squaly sessions rather their rear wing shalower levels (compared to Merc and Aston cars) hence speaks volumes about the downforce that MCL60 car has now ...

So later in the Sprint race everybody (or at least the first 10 drivers on the grid) would do the race on M tyres, isn`t it? 19 laps on S tyres could be a stretch though even if some drivers like PER, LEC and SAI spared a fresh set of S tyres ... maybe they`ll use them tomorrow had a late SC/VSC phase could be ...

Are there track limits in this corner? Image
Would be such an odd corner to look at but seems very tight on Norris' SQ3 lap

I think they saved the fresh reds for the sprint race. A joker card for a late SC is not really thát important to give up your best SQ3 qualy chance.

Was Verstappen allowed to overtake those 2 cars in the pit Lane before the white line in SQ3?

Verstappen threw sprint pole in turn 4, lost 0.1 to perez and almost to 0.2 to norris there, but then I guess Norris also didnt have a perfect lap elsewhere. Mclaren is marginally faster on un-DRSed straights.

he is talking about Softs there. Leclerc did SQ3 on a used set (instead of new) and Sainz on 3-lap-olds (instead of 2-lap-olds). So they saved the new(er) sets for the race tomorrow.
