Well considering there are 10 teams, all things being equal, there is a 1 in 10 chance of winning

Isn't that what they already told with the Budapest updates (before they wanted to attack with a new package in the autumn)? In fact they recognized for example that the boot out Imola floor, which was blamed for the poor balance and so on, made his comeback in the autumn races. :wtf:

I am not so convinced that the current personal at the factory knows exactly what route to go.

McLaren simulator driver Daniel Juncadella said Newey doesn't understand what Aston is doing either :lol:

No need, since Hungary Front has been rock solid and the rear is fine since Spa. The middle is the issue, that's where the pace comes form.

I would assume they would want to have as flexible front wing as MCL and Merc, but maybe they changed the elements while keeping the same shape, or maybe it's unchanged.

They're not losing much anyway by trying. Maybe some secret inputs have been incorporated this time.

Why would a simulator driver for a different team know anything about what Newey thinks lol. Anyway Newey saw enough potential to choose Aston Martin over McLaren :P

Aston’s Austin package includes a revised floor, and is seen as in part as a preview of the direction that the team is taking for 2025.

“I don’t think expectations can be too high,” he said. “We have some new parts, but I don’t think that it will change the full picture.

“I think this part of the championship, the upgrades are quite small. I think all of them are just also in line to what the 2025 car is looking at the tunnel. So it’s more a half-test, half-performance, introduction.

“And for us, it’s important as keeping the good understanding of the car that I think we started to have after Budapest, and that’s probably the main target for this weekend, try to have a good correlation, and see that all the new parts are doing what we expect from them.

“In terms of performance and positions in qualifying of the race, I don’t think that is going to be a game changer for anybody.”
Alonso added: “After Budapest, we understood some of the directions that we took in the past, and why it was not correlated properly on track, and that package was a good sign on what we wanted to achieve, and this is just a continuation of that.
