Not that I have any desire for another penalty, but qualies get cancelled, SC's get on track because of rain, penalty points are given because one jumps a fabricated VSC ending by 0.063s ... all for safety, all to avoid the slightest chance of another Bianchi scenario.

More like for an illusion of safety. Just imagine what the FIA would do if someone gets seriously injured or dies anyway? Cancel wet running? Fast turns? Speed limiter?
And by the way, Since the Bianchi crash was a driver failure, they should scrutinize reckless driving. (The Hubert crash was also because of reckless driving and the FIA trademark paved danger run-offs...)

But yet we keep driving and swapping drivers while a driver is walking 50cm next to a seriously wet track, and just fine a Mickey Mouse sum when the safety measures around a restart are are not followed. It's kinda ridiculous ...

What is this about? It might have escaped my attention.

1st part is ridiculous, 2nd is sprint and race related .. pretty clear I'd say.

It's a silly technicality. Adjusting the pressure pre-race with the tyre on or off the car has zero sporting impact so long as the pressure is within the stipulated levels.

Take the rule out then. Rules are there to deal with certain procedures, we're even talking about water in tires and we violate procedure and fine 5000... This is just a clownshow.

Rules are never 100% adapted for every scenario, hence we have stewards. They obviously decided there were mitigating circumstances here. Personally IDC about the ruling because the infringement carries zero sporting benefit, it's a pure pre-race technicality, unlike the example you brought up with the endurance race.

So turns out from a Ferrari press release that Ferrari used 2 extra tires purely for the grid formation (lap from pits to grid) and not during the race due to a small mistake.

No sporting advantage was gained from this. 4 minutes 55 seconds penalty.

I repeat, embarrassing stewarding.

Yes, that's WEC. Mentioning because it happened this weekend as well and due to a minor procedural mistake Ferrari was docked a 2nd place. And hey, they made the mistake so shame on them. Somehow though this only applies to Ferrari.
