The last paragraph is certainly food for thought

The good years of this formula didn't last long at all, maybe half of 2022 and then progressively worse since.mwillems wrote: ↑28 Jun 2025, 20:42Maybe. With these temps, following a car could be tough on tyres and engines. Lando has clean air and probably race pace.
This year the dirty air seems bad and the cars as sensitive as ever before. The golden years of this formula are gone and its definately time for a change.
Norris loves that track and so does our package in general. None of the corners that trouble us too much and with 50c track temps it was the kind of day made for Mclaren just as the last race wasn't, IMO.CjC wrote: ↑28 Jun 2025, 21:36The last paragraph is certainly food for thought

Yes but like Mark said red bull have usually been stronger than the McLaren in the high speeds… until this weekend.mwillems wrote: ↑28 Jun 2025, 22:25Norris loves that track and so does our package in general. So, upgrades designed to make it easier for Lando to find the limit, not all to improve the best lap time, but to make it more accessible. I think Silverstone will be the real test of these of course, but it's still great to get such a good quali result.Nonetheless Norris said he felt confident in the car and it had been more competitive than he expected at the Red Bull Ring.
McLaren have introduced various new parts over the last two races, some of which were intended to improve its performance but others aimed at helping Norris feel more confident in the car. He said they appear to be working as desired.
They have but I think.the extreme conditions affected other teams who's tyres seemed to slide more.CjC wrote: ↑28 Jun 2025, 22:46Yes but like Mark said red bull have usually been stronger than the McLaren in the high speeds… until this weekend.mwillems wrote: ↑28 Jun 2025, 22:25Norris loves that track and so does our package in general. Like he says we’ll have to see in Silverstone
Yeah but McLaren has been best on tires in high temps all year so ..
I am just saying people may be counting their chicken before they hatch.
Its interesting that McLaren have managed to do in three months, that Red Bull haven't managed in over two years.Mostlyeels wrote: ↑28 Jun 2025, 23:12So, upgrades designed to make it easier for Lando to find the limit, not all to improve the best lap time, but to make it more accessible.
