Once again i'm expecting AM to have a very strong chassis next year, especially when they will be able to make it lighter because i'm 100% sure Newey will decide to give priority to aero instead of weight.

I think you're over-simplifying the work. There's a long way between what's in Newey's head, and what gets out to the racetrack. What is the basis for "they'll have a very strong chassis next year"? With what simulator? What cooling technology? What gearbox? The aerodynamics department was just let go. I think you aren't listening to what Newey has been saying. He practically called the team Jaguar F1 and you think in 3 months' time anything will be "strong"?

I'm not impressed by what Lawrence did before Adrian arrived. He's hired all these big names that Adrian has since fired (Fallows, Blandin, the others). He's bought all this technology that Adrian said is useless in it's current state. This is a bigger challenge than I anticipated. I didn't realize that all Lawrence did was some window dressing to scare the other teams but little substance. Now Adrian is fixing what should have already been sorted before he arrived.

Lawrence made a crucial mistake: he didn't hire a real technical director. This is why he offered 20 plus M to Newey, to have the best ever.

We need to wait around 2 months guys, just 2 month to see where. I dont believe they will be worse than 2025, next year every team will be the last, never he rules change like now. If Honda doesnt repet 2015 i think will be in the top teams for next year. Blandin and other dont have any impact for 2026, they didnt build this car, so. Good bye for them. We need to remeber, AM improved a lot in Imola this year, they never improve since 2023, and naturally they stop this progress because was better use the resources for 2026, If Newey and Aston Martin had invested in 2025, they would certainly be better than now

I think we have to be realistic. This does not indicate a championship winning 2026 project. You don't sack the whole aero department 3 months before track launch if things are going well. This ties into the previous that Newey gave when he said there were people that said certain things can't be done. Now we know who those people are...

Earlier this year(March), Aston Martin appointed a new chief aerodynamicist Gioacchino 'Jack' Vino, as well as luring one of Newey's former Red Bull lieutenants Giles Wood back to F1 as simulation and vehicle modelling director.

This was my point. Contrary to what some imagine which is that Newey is a wizard who can develop a winning F1 car without a windtunnel or a simulator or anyone else, Newey requires tools. He's very good at interpreting them when they are working. The tools are not there yet.

Anything is possible, of course, because other teams can build much worse cars than Aston Martin, but I would pay close attention to Newey's reservations. They are not unfounded. Aston Martin isn't yet where he wants it to be. They can't be judged on 2026. Like a rookie F1 driver, it needs time.
