It's why Marko referred to two separate incidents where one could conceivably think Antonelli waived them through. Mercedes is not above suspicion. If Mercedes want to help Mclaren, that's their right, there's nothing against it. It turns out RB was wrong but they aren't responsible for the actions of nuts on the internet anymore than Mercedes and Lewis Hamilton would be responsible for Latifi and Michael Masi's death threats.

Wow, on second viewing that defense against Piastri is atrocious, probably not intentional but very naive from Antonelli to leave the door so open, forget covering the inside line he left the whole track open.

To me the line is sooo odd. No one in the whole race used this outside kerb into T1 and Ant put half the car on it/into the dirt. That was not "forget covering".

Yeah, that would win the worst 'defense' of the season award. It's so difficult to overtake here, you need to be less than 0.4s coming out of the final corner with DRS and even then, if you hold the inside line that's the chance gone because the corner just does not allow overtakes on the outside.

I would not even suggest to go for the inside. If he brakes on the line, there is basically no chance to make this stick. See Verstappen at the start when he took two car length from Lando on the inside. Was he afraid of Oscar taking him out?

We got people here having suspicion about Merc helping Mclaren? Who cares? Red Bull have two additional single seaters at their disposal and can use them to mess with Mclaren at any given moment. Anything is fair game against a team that has a “sister” team. Anyways, I don’t think Merc is helping Mclaren out, but even if they did, why does it matter? That is a Max/Red Bull problem.

Never, I think this is a nothingburger. Same as the constant accusations of RedBull having help by their second team, nothing is more monitored by the FIA, they just wait for an error. And so did Hadjar jump out of the way when Norris was anywhere close in the last races. We saw the very same in many seasons with a tight ending...like 2016 Vettel trying to stay out of the feet of Rosberg. Or the last part of the season 21 where everyone tried to not tango with Ham and Ver.

Here...it is a bit more puzzling still. Ant basically left the track. Was he so much afraid of a crazy divebomb? Why did he not do the same with Norris? He was more in a Petrov situation, where the WDC contender would not stand a chance to overtake and he himself lost precious points. These two points are now missing to tie with Ham, something I would call a great achievement.

And I do not get how that was even possible, Pia reached Ant with a very similar tire age difference as later Norris did. Just keep him a lap behind and the case is closed on even both opponents as the dirty air cost him another 2sec.
