It seems, AM wants to run in wet weather. Team wont get that opportunity in Bahrain.

It's an opportunity for teams to run their car without limitations like a maximum of 200km of running on promotional tyres that is permitted during filming days, so they can start checking parts on the new machines work as expected.

Aston Martin failed the crash test more than once. That is going to eat a lot into the budget cap.

Besides being a lot overweight, the team is going to make a decision soon if it will make the test in time. It might be pushed into Thursday.

I've never been to Barcelona, so I don't know how easy it is to get picts from outside but the media isn't allowed to attend this test.

This track is not far from a bunker.

The grainy leaked Audi footage had to be recorded from a scaffolding put at a good distance from the track, in a hill.

There's cameras that can get HD photos even from a distance of 200 meters. The problem is that those are usually quite expensive and not everyone has access to one unless they're passionate hobbyist or somehow involved with media.

I am hoping there will be one or the other present this time around at Barcelona willing to get some nice shots of the cars.

The cars will likely NOT be running their liveries or driver numbers...how will you be able to tell them appart?

You can because some have already announced their test liveries. Some others have already shown their cars which have discernible details.

So basically, process of elimination in combination with (hopefully) images that teams themselves will share.

I believe that even with a fully camouflaged livery, the teams are still required by the regulations to display the driver's number on the nose of the car.

Good news regarding coverage of the Barcelona tests: FOM will officially release highlights of each day of testing, in addition to clips released by them and the teams on social media. So, we'll have official high-quality footage of the tests.

All this negativity is deliberately put out in the press as part of strategy.

Comparing with 2014 Newey car, it was disastrous first test with pu issues and tight packaging causing burning.

But it still won 3 races and had 12 podiums by end of season. It was the only non Mercedes car to win a race.

If Honda is not as far back in PU performance, there is chance of good season irrespective of how bad testing goes. I know Newey alone didn't build 2014 car but still just for comparison.
