2026 car comparisons

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Red Bull's front wing mainplane is more or less flat. No curvature whatsoever.

Yes, Red Bull has the lowest mainplane curvature. Mercedes is the only team with the nose not connected to the mainplane.

I am already liking how much variety we have at the start of 2026 in terms of aero/packaging design compared to 2022 when it was a 'chassis change only' regulation change.

Are we even certain it's extreme anti-dive at this point? There were so many conflicting articles on it, that I don't even know whose words to take on it. There were plenty of discussions about it here on this forum as well and people more or less agreed extreme anti-dive is not generally a desirable feature mechanically.

McLaren's front suspension last year was extreme yes, but I don't think we can say for certain it was extreme anti-dive.

Anti-dive character depends on the angles of both the upper and lower control arm triangles in the side view.

Cool seeing all the sidepod inlet differences. Need the Haas on there top as thats different again.

Racing bulls nose connects differently to the wing than the others, very Ferrari F14 esque

Quite the variety of cooling outlets on the cars present today. There wasn’t a good shot of the Audi unfortunately)

Red Bull and Alpine stand out from the crowd of conventional cannons at different ends of the spectrum.

Audi has a lot of cooling. Big sidepod inlets and looks like the second biggest airbox behind Racing Bulls.

Gonna need a birdstrike protocol here like airplanes. That air intake is becoming comically large in some cases.

But also at the lowest position (sidepod inlets). Could if be they prefer air to go over the sidepod and onto the rear?
