New Blood brings new ideas
No redbull is being dismantled they are going through what mclaren went when they separated from mercedes.merc took a lot of employees with them and build there own empire.
i am fully aware of that, thats why my remark was closed with a smiley (to mark the irony)
I thought you meant new people redbull brings in like Mekies who have been good for them

Still just about half a race distance so far. Hadjar might suffer from that.

Not so good S2 on the C4s. I guess Waché was right that they have traction + low/mid corner issues. or did he make a mistake?

Pretty decent low fuel runs. Seems like they've taken a step in the middle sector, mostly evident in the consecutive laps so far.

Considering that Verstappen is like 1 second faster than Hadjar, those are pretty good laps from Red Bull.

When the car is easier to handle it is more likely to be just a few tenths (~0.3s-0.5s?).

But Verstappen can exploit energy recovery better? More than ever will depend on the driver.

Isack overtaking the Cadillac. Seems like a good front end in the dirty air compared to others who said they had big balance shift.

There might be some foreshadowing here but every grid start I have seen from the Red Bull in the preseason test has been outstanding.

This looked pretty good I gotta say. With the old DRS system, a driver in Hadjar's position would simply fly by unopposed, but he actully had to fight on the brakes (pretty deep braking too)

Either we are in a scenario where going slightly faster through the corners reduces harvesting by a lot, or today they were sandbagging on deployment/turning down the engine.

Seeing as there were some issues with the car it wouldn't surprise me if they were cautious. Hadjar did like 5 install runs with a speed limiter after spending those 3,5 hours in the garage.

Interestingly, unlike most teams red bull is on the same spec floor as beginning of Bahrain test 1. Something more to come there

Maybe reaching that super high top speed in the main straight requires dumping pretty much the whole battery? Hadjar is faster in the subsequent straight, but I think not by enough to gain back the time lost in the start/finish straight. For sure not in the long run comparison at least.

Definitely looks like they might have been on the cautious side today. Hopefully they let Max push it a bit more tomorrow or friday.

what does "T" stand for (T1,T2) in the pic titles ?
Comparing fastest laps of test1 day1 (VER) v test2 day 1 (HAD), the gain is ~0.55 by becoming better in the slow/medium corners (T12 remains unchanged) while shedding a lot of top speed (~0.4s worth) in the straights, meaning a gain of nearly ~1s through non-straights. As you say, hard to tell whether this was 'moving around the deployment locations' or just plain old sandbagging.
