Actually, any "own business" that gets successful enough to really be a business, not just a hobby that gets you half by generally involves employing other people and being able to take a small amount of time off (even if you're still half working while you're away).Pup wrote:Never owned your own business, huh?beelsebob wrote:I can't think of another job where you don't get a holiday.![]()
You must not be American. *looks at location* Thought so.beelsebob wrote: Imagine if the NASCAR teams had to spend the winter designing new cars
I can't think of another job where you don't get a holiday... In fact, I can't think of another job where you get only 2 weeks. So no, it's not an insult to every working person... Because they all get holidays.
I just have general admission tickets. Hopefully I will spend Friday finding a good place to watch the race from. Hopefully the weather won't be too poor.....Gerhard Berger wrote:im going to spa too - very excitedicemanchay wrote:The break is far too long but I suppose the F1 personnel deserve some time out with the long calendar this year.
A bonus for me is that i will actually be at Spa when F1 returns after the break. I can’t wait.![]()
Anyone who is hitting F1 2011 hard, are you playing online? If so i will have a game with someone.where are you going to be sitting?
Actually, anyone dedicated enough to make an "own business" successful enough isn't one to ever really want time off, or even choose it over work.beelsebob wrote:Actually, any "own business" that gets successful enough to really be a business, not just a hobby that gets you half by generally involves employing other people and being able to take a small amount of time off (even if you're still half working while you're away).Pup wrote:Never owned your own business, huh?beelsebob wrote:I can't think of another job where you don't get a holiday.![]()
Catch up haha, the only thing they seem to do is go backwardsMrBlacky wrote:I hope Mercedes uses the time to catch up
found it. To avoid other teams thinks that they will be using other resources to do F1 stuff.raymondu999 wrote:Yes the factory is shut down for 2/3 weeks. McLaren generally pack up after the race, send the crates back home, then drop everything for the break, before taking the allowed work time (I still don't know if it's 2 or 3 weeks) in the weeks building to the grand prix.
Interesting that the road car side is also getting a shutdown though.
http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/2012/ju ... car-plantsThe McLaren team principal, Martin Whitmarsh said: "We are shutting down midnight on Sunday after the Hungarian Grand Prix.
"As it happens we're also shutting down our automotive production at the same time, even though we don't need to do it.
"And we're not doing it to avoid any aspersions being cast by other teams. It is a separate company.
"I don't know what Ferrari are doing, whether they shut down their automotive side.
Ferrari have mentioned that they still have another week of work; I guess would be 1-3-1 week(s) of work-break-work.raymondu999 wrote:Given it's 5 weeks before the next stop - how does this work then? 3 weeks of work 2 of holiday, or 3 of holiday 2 of work? Last year with 4 weeks it was 2 weeks each way - but not sure about this year
