Ahem....The pullout of BMW nearly killed the team altogether. Following the withdrawal of BMW Mrs. Kaltenborn was appointed CEO of the team, and she has overseen the development of the team from an also ran to a solid middle team with a few podiums to its credit.
It seems that a lot of people forget that in order to have a race, there must be competitors on the grid. What does F1 do about its inability to meet its own goal of posting a 12 team field? Is it healthy for F1 when a third of the teams are in such a poor financial state that there is doubt about their ability to continue for another season. What of the phenomenon of golden goose pay drivers? I would argue that Kaltenborn has a practical experience with these matters, that make her a fine candidate to be Mr. Eccelstonse's successor.
