Wait for Q to see the real gap
So where it is your Mclaren-Mercedes deal? Or wait a moment there is not.
It could have went either way really. In Baku McLaren could have had the new engine blow up in practice and a double engine failure in the race. McLaren might well have looked more into a switch then. It's all speculation and retrospect and we are all guilty of it, so no point in calling someone out on it as it's very childish.
Do u think it would be that easy for Mclaren to switch? Honda has been saying from the start that this will be a long project. The reason they are paying Mclaren so much money is to make the initial hurdle easier to bear. Dennis knew that and didn't make too much of a fuss these last 2 years but these new owners want to win now. Only way they will get the Merc engines is to buy Honda out of the contract.
Don't think they have the money for that, already struggling to pay Dennis for his shares. Only strategy is to shame Honda publicly so that Honda tear up the contract themselves. Like Mateschitz, they are finding out that only way is to beg FIA for a independent engine supplier and shut up.
