Carlos fairs up and goes. He's running an old set of Soft tyres for this run – saving his final new set for the last attempt of the session.

Don't know what to tell you... that contradicts what the F1 tool showed.Ground Effect wrote: ↑27 Jul 2019, 17:10It wasn’t a gaffe... via TeamStream

Not trying to be argumentative... But the F1 tool has been wrong before (to the point of showing even the wrong compound)... I believe that the TeamStream information says more than the F1 app.diffuser wrote:Don't know what to tell you... that contradicts what the F1 tool showed.Ground Effect wrote: ↑27 Jul 2019, 17:10It wasn’t a gaffe... via TeamStream

Only 1 set of softs with 5 laps. Both runs happened in Q1.
Could Lando have been used as the test mule this weekend? Carlos has been doing the bulk of the testing of future updates over the past weekends. It usually left him on the back foot for qualifying, so maybe it was Lando doing update tests?
He simply was a bit off... I wouldn’t called his performance “disappointing”, but definitely not stellar... He missed Q2 by an small margin and it isn’t like he was completely off the pace... He just didn’t nailed his lap.Ground Effect wrote:Could Lando have been used as the test mule this weekend? Carlos has been doing the bulk of the testing of future updates over the past weekends. Could explain why he was so slow in front of Albon, as it looked like he was clearly pushing. I'm hoping he doesn't get a penalty.SmallSoldier wrote: ↑27 Jul 2019, 19:45According to Seidl, Norris had issues with the battery pack during Q1:
“Qualifying P7 and P16 obviously leaves us with mixed feelings. In all fairness to Lando, we had an issue with the battery pack which compromised his ability to get through to Q2 and his quali result overall. With Carlos, we got everything out of the car and he did a great job putting the laps together to secure a good starting position. We're still aiming to fight for points with both cars tomorrow and we’ve also seen the weather forecast, so we can expect an exciting race for the fans here in Germany”

He was on a “fast lap” (although slower than his previous attempt)... He wasn’t on a cool down lap, therefore there shouldn’t be a penalty for blocking.martinbeiker wrote:Could explain why he was so slow in front of Albon, as it looked like he was clearly pushing. Can't give someone a penalty for being on a hot lap, so there's no chance in my book.martinbeiker wrote: ↑27 Jul 2019, 19:49Could explain why he was so slow in front of Albon, as it looked like he was clearly pushing. I'm hoping he doesn't get a penalty.
They probably gambled on a wet set-up for tomorrow raceSmallSoldier wrote: ↑27 Jul 2019, 20:31Interesting that both Mclaren’s were so far away in the speed trap... Probably more downforce in the car? Hope it pays off tomorrow!

I understand it’s raining now... I’m assuming the team would prefer a wet race?bauc wrote: ↑27 Jul 2019, 21:01They probably gambled on a wet set-up for tomorrow raceSmallSoldier wrote: ↑27 Jul 2019, 20:31Interesting that both Mclaren’s were so far away in the speed trap...
